Dear Msgr. Sempa

Encouraged by the Bishop’s letter read at all the masses on December 9th & 10th ,and published in The Catholic Light on December 13th, the Sacred Heart Wilkes-Barre Foundation, Inc. hereby volunteers to work on the parish’s self study as part of the diocesan pastoral planning project.

The founding members of our foundation have been actively involved with our parish for many years, volunteering enormous amounts of time on and for the Finance Committee, developing and reviewing plans to repair and restore the church, school, and grounds, and attending countless meetings.  The majority of our members are life-long parishioners and faithful practicing Catholics.  Many are descendants of the parish’s founding generation.  Among us are professionals who are knowledgeable of the history of the parish and the physical condition of the church.

Our foundation, whose membership is large and continues to grow, desires to work with the parish and diocese.  Considering we represent a large segment of the parishioners, having a representative from our foundation on the parish core team will be an excellent way to ensure extensive input from the parish level promised by the bishop.

Our foundation is an asset to this study and this parish.  We have nominated Noreen Foti, the Foundation President, to represent us on the Parish Core Team.  Many other members have also volunteered to join other subgroups, or if possible the cluster core team or the diocesan planning commission. All of us volunteer to assist and contribute in any way to ensure a successful conclusion to this project.

Please contact Noreen Foti directly, and advise of the date, time and location of the first meeting.

Sincerely,

Mr. Michael Horvath
