Correspondence with Parish and Diocese to

Advance Restoration Plan

Foundation Successful in Stopping Sale of School

For over six years, the founding members of our foundation have been in correspondence with the pastor and diocese regarding the condition of the church and efforts to repair and restore the church. Initially, the pastor was receptive to the input and efforts from these interested parishioners. The parishioners were advised that if sufficient support for a plan could be demonstrated, the plan would be presented by the preparers to the diocese for approval.  As the plans were finalized, and as support and momentum for the project grew, it became obvious that the pastor and the diocese were not interested in saving or restoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. There has been numerous correspondence with the pastor and the diocese in an attempt to advance the comprehensive multi-phase plan. Copies of the letters can be viewed by clicking on the dates listed to the left.  There has been many discussions and meetings with the pastor and others including the finance committee and architect which are not documented by letter.

Upon announcement by the pastor that the Sacred Heart School had been listed for sale, the foundation initiated a campaign of letters and meetings to stop this.  This effort proved successful when the pastor and diocesan chancelor announced that the school had been taken off the market, pending the conclusion of the Called to Holiness and Mission project.
